Join us on Wednesday, April 22, for another ILS meet-and-greet. Plan to arrive around 7 pm, get a name tag and, if so inclined, buy a drink (and/or food) at the bar. Around 7:15 we’ll start a brief program. Sign up here.
Since this is Earth Day, we'll have an environmental focus: Illinois subsidizes fossil fuels through its public pensions. Is that sustainable—or safe? Babette Neuberger, a member of the Climate Safe Pensions Illinois coalition’s Coordinating Council, will speak about the history, purpose, and goals of the Fossil Fuel Divestment Act, currently pending in the Illinois General Assembly, and the challenges it faces. Come learn what actions we can take to support the coalition’s effort.
After the program we'll have at least an hour of socializing.
New members are very welcome—bring your friends!
PLEASE NOTE: This event takes place at Platform 47, 4709 N. Damen.
