Write postcards to rally progressives in TN special election
There is still time to show off your postcard writing prowess.
We have an opportunity to flip Tennessee's 7th Congressional District on December 2nd. This is an open seat following the retirement of GOP Rep. Mark Green in July. Democratic candidate Aftyn Behn won the Democratic primary last month, and she has a chance to shock the world by winning this fairly Republican district. The race is within 10 points — you could be the difference!
Once you sign up, you’ll be mailed your free postcards within three days, so you should receive them within about a week or sooner. Included will be a voter list and instructions with three short message options. You'll have until Nov 17 or Nov 21 to mail the postcards depending on the instructions you receive. As always, you're responsible for providing the Postcard Stamps (currently $0.61).
New Illinois commission set to document ICE abuses
Governor JB Pritzker last week announced a new commission tasked with documenting alleged civil rights abuses of immigrants in Illinois.
The state body, dubbed the Illinois Accountability Commission, will maintain a public record of actions tied to federal immigration enforcement actions in the state. It will also report the impact of those actions on local communities.

Nothin’ doing in Washington amid continued shutdown
Make your voice heard as the government shutdown continues:
As the government shutdown enters its fourth week, Republicans are still unwilling to negotiate extension to ACA healthcare subsidies in the budget. On Monday, the Senate failed for the 11th time to advance a House-passed measure to fund the government until Nov. 21.
There are calls you can make to get the ball rolling.
What comes next after the largest single-day protest
Our pro-democracy movement is surging. Now it’s up to each of us to channel this incredible energy into the organizing power it will take to win.
Protests serve many purposes -- they change the narrative, they grow our movement, they show people reeling under the weight of the regime’s atrocities that they are not alone.
But a single day of protest -- even the largest single-day protest we’ve seen in our lifetimes -- will not overcome the fascist onslaught we face.
It’s going to take ongoing, strategic organizing -- exactly the kind of organizing Indivisible was created to foster -- to deliver us from tyranny.
Chicago shows up 250,000 strong
Chicagoan were part of the 7,000,000 Americans who gathered in powerful, peaceful protest against Donald Trump’s agenda. We were united in our distain and distrust of this administration.

Tell Gov. Pritzker to defend our forests
We're calling on Gov. Pritzker to stand up for them before swaths of this iconic forest -- and millions of acres of trees across the country -- are slashed to stumps.
October “No Kings” rally is critical; city is under siege
You’ve seen the headlines. You know that Chicago is currently under siege by federal agents. Are you ready to take back the city and rise up against the Trump administration’s authoritarian invasion?
Mark your calendar to represent Chicago in the nationwide No Kings rallyon Saturday, Oct. 18, from noon to 2 pm CDT in ButlerField/Grant Park. Show the city and the world that Chicago is united in opposition to illegal and unnecessary attacks by federal agents against our neighbors, our communities and our democracy.
We don’t accept a “want-to-be” king, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption and cruelty.
(Registration is not necessary to participate.)
If you’d like to head downtown with Indivisible Lincoln Square, meet us at the Damen Brown Line station. We’ll catch the first train to the Loop after 10:45 a.m. — just look for the “RESIST” banner on the platform!
Once downtown, we’ll get off at Adams & Wabash, walk one block north to Monroe, then east past Columbus Dr. to Butler Field (just south of Monroe). That’s where you’ll find the Indivisible Chicago tent and banner if you’re meeting us there instead.
Call our Illinois senators and tell them to hold the line in this Trump Shutdown
With historic healthcare cuts and cost increases approaching, Republicans chose to force a Trump Shutdown rather than address the healthcare crisis or put checks on Trump’s lawless power-grabs.
So far, all but three Senate Dems and Independents -- Cortez Masto, Fetterman, and King -- have held the line against Republicans’ dangerous budget.
Call our Illinois senators to thank them for holding the line. You are behind them as long as they continue to fight!
