SHOW UP CHICAGO for July 28: In Case of ICE

  • The Hideout 1354 West Wabansia Avenue Chicago, IL, 60642 United States (map)

What should you do if immigration agents show up in your neighborhood or workplace? Should you answer their questions? Take a video? Say something to people being rounded up? At the July session of Show Up Chicago, we’ll discuss these questions with experts who know the ropes: State Senator Graciela Guzman, an outspoken champion of immigrants’ rights, and Rey Wences, Senior Director of Deportation Defense at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR). Find out what to do (and what not to do) when our neighbors are threatened, and how you can help every day to resist the cruel spectacle being brought to our streets.

Show Up Chicago is a monthly community gathering/panel show/happy hour hosted by the Chicago's most highly evolved saloon and produced by the Blue Beginning chapter of Indivisible Chicago. It’s a great opportunity to mix with like-minded neighbors, hear the latest from political insiders, and talk about what’s broken and how we fix it.

Doors at 6, panel at 7, but come early, stay late, gossip freely, and tip your bartender! Free and open to all, but please RSVP by signing up to the right.
