Location: Virtual, join from anywhere

Across the country, authoritarian forces are getting bolder and more dangerous. Trump and his allies are not hiding their agenda: mass deportations, rollbacks of civil rights, weaponized courts, and full-scale attacks on our democracy. We don’t have to wait until it’s too late. We can stop this. But it’ll take all of us—not just on single days of mass action, but through sustained organizing in our communities.
That’s why this summer, national Indivisible is launching One Million Rising—a national effort to train one million people in the strategic logic and practice of non-cooperation, as well as the basics of community organizing and campaign design. This is how we build people power that can’t be ignored. You’re invited to join in—and lead. Sign up to get trained.
Session 1 (last week): The Moment & Your Mission - held last week: Get oriented to making meaning of this moment and the role you can play in coordinated strategic action. MISSED IT? Watch here. (Note: The recording begins a little after the actual session began.)
Session 2: How to Make it Happen - Wednesday, July 30: This train-the-trainer session is how we get to one million. Learn not just our strategy, but how you can train others and get them on board. You'll host your first community resistance gathering after this session.
Session 3: What Now? - Wednesday, August 13 You'll be onboarded to basic campaign design and learn how to implement it locally as well as get plugged into our next national campaign work. Your second community resistance gathering will move this action forward.
Each session runs from 7:00-8:30 pm, CT.

ICE Watch: Rapid Response Training for Allies with ICIRR (VIRTUAL)
Indivisible Chicago invites you to a virtual ICE Watch Rapid Response training, conducted by Rey Wences, Senior Director of Deportation Defense at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR). Event is hosted by the Indivisible Chicago Immigration Working Group.

Protecting Immigrant Neighbors, 4th round
Join Indivisible Lincoln Square to continue our canvass of businesses and make sure they know what to do if ICE comes knocking.
This time we’ll visit businesses located in Lakeview, between Addison and Diversey and east of Ashland, explaining our concerns about our immigrant and refugee neighbors and workers who might be targeted by ICE and other federal agencies. We’ll share materials that will explain their rights and those of their employees if ICE enters their establishment. We’ll leave literature for future reference. And we'll have more red cards available to hand out!

Time: 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Location: Virtual – join from anywhere

Join us to phone bank to voters in Illinois's 12th district. We ask them to pressure their Republican rep to protect Medicaid.
In Illinois this includes almost half of our children, two thirds of our seniors in nursing homes, and 40% of all pregnancies. MAGA wants to cut this and other essential services (like SNAP) so that they can continue tax giveaways to the ultra wealthy. They are trying to fool folks that this will “trickle down” benefits, though this has NEVER been shown to work.
But this budget is NOT a done deal.

Across the country, the judicial system—once a pillar of democracy—is under coordinated attack. Join us for a critical conversation on how our courts are being undermined and what that means for civil rights, reproductive freedom, immigrant protections, and democratic accountability. Legal experts, organizers, and elected officials will break down the current crisis and offer real steps we can take to protect the integrity of our courts before it's too late.

These congresspeople are: Mike Bost (IL-12), Mary Miller (IL-15) and Darrin LaHood (IL-16). You do not have to be an Illinoisan to participate. This is the plan of the congressional GOP caucus. This is in the works in all of our states. We can call voters in these 3 congressional districts as part of a bigger project to make calls to voters in other states as well.
