Democratic candidate Aftyn Behn won the Democratic primary last month, and she has a chance to shock the world by winning this fairly Republican district. The race is within 10 points — you could be the difference!

Once you sign up, you’ll be mailed your free postcards within three days, so you should receive them within about a week or sooner. Included will be a voter list and instructions with three short message options.  You'll have until Nov 17 or Nov 21 to mail the postcards depending on the instructions you receive. As always, you're responsible for providing the Postcard Stamps (currently $0.61).

Nothin’ doing in Washington amid continued shutdown

Make your voice heard as the government shutdown continues:

As the government shutdown enters its fourth week, Republicans are still unwilling to negotiate extension to ACA healthcare subsidies in the budget. On Monday, the Senate failed for the 11th time to advance a House-passed measure to fund the government until Nov. 21.

There are calls you can make to get the ball rolling.

What comes next after the largest single-day protest

What comes next after the largest single-day protest

Our pro-democracy movement is surging. Now it’s up to each of us to channel this incredible energy into the organizing power it will take to win.

Join us on Tuesday night at 8pm ET/5pm PT for a mass call of movement leaders and activists to discuss what’s next.

Protests serve many purposes -- they change the narrative, they grow our movement, they show people reeling under the weight of the regime’s atrocities that they are not alone.

But a single day of protest -- even the largest single-day protest we’ve seen in our lifetimes -- will not overcome the fascist onslaught we face.

It’s going to take ongoing, strategic organizing -- exactly the kind of organizing Indivisible was created to foster -- to deliver us from tyranny.

Call our Illinois senators and tell them to hold the line in this Trump Shutdown

With historic healthcare cuts and cost increases approaching, Republicans chose to force a Trump Shutdown rather than address the healthcare crisis or put checks on Trump’s lawless power-grabs.

So far, all but three Senate Dems and Independents -- Cortez Masto, Fetterman, and King -- have held the line against Republicans’ dangerous budget.

Call our Illinois senators to thank them for holding the line.  You are behind them as long as they continue to fight!

Bigger and better Hands off Chicago and No Kings

Here in Chicago. we know how to rise-up, fight back, and support each other.

It is more important than ever that we do that together on October 18th as we show the nation and the world that Chicago is united in opposing these illegal and unnecessary attacks against our neighbors, our communities, and our democracy.

Our actions and resistance are necessary as Trump sends militarized agents into our communities, silences voters and voices, and hands billionaires giveaways while families struggle. This isn’t just politics. It’s democracy versus dictatorship.

We won’t accept a want to be king, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty.  Join us in Chicago on October 18th to declare Hands Off Chicago and No Kings!

Chalk the walk for Hands Off Chicago/No Kings

Neighbors in Ravenswood Garden have organized a neighborhood-wide chalking effort to help build awareness of the HANDS OFF CHICAGO/NO KINGS DAY rally on October 18 from 12 noon-3:00 pm at Butler Field/Grant Park. This is a fun and easy activity that really can help if you are looking for something constructive to do!

You may know that one goal for the upcoming HANDS OFF CHICAGO/NO KINGS DAY rally on October 18th is to double the number of participants who turned out for the June event. With June participation estimated around 4.5- 5 million people, national Indivisible organizers are hoping for at least 10 million participants nationwide this fall. To accomplish this, we need A LOT of publicity and encouragement to get folks out and rallying!

We have less than 4 weeks until the October 18th rally - we are hoping to continue the chalking effort each week until the event. Want to participate? It’s easy!

Fill out this form to let the organizers know you are interested in participating.

Information on where and what to chalk will be sent to you.  The goal is to spread ourselves out and around the neighborhood, so we are not all chalking the same concentrated area. In general, areas to chalk include around L stops, schools, parks, coffee shops, stores, etc.  Anywhere you usually travel is good!

Federal funding deadline looms: email your senators to stop cuts to healthcare

From national Indivisible

We’re just one week away from a crucial federal funding deadline, and Republicans appear fully committed to shutting down government rather than doing anything to restore constitutional checks on Trump’s authoritarian power-grabs or to stop his massive healthcare cuts.

Our senators need to know we expect them to fight like hell against any funding bill that enables Trump’s healthcare cuts or hands him a blank check.

Contact our Illinois senators and tell them that you are concerned about the upcoming government funding fight and that they must fight for a spending bill that protects healthcare and puts meaningful checks on Trump.

Call or email our Illinois senators:

No more masked ICE raids in California—Gov. Newsom

California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, on Saturday signed a landmark state bill prohibiting ICE agents and most other federal and state law enforcement officials from hiding their faces when interacting with the public in the nation’s largest state.

Signing of the bill followed its introduction by California lawmakers earlier this month. The move may spark similar measures around the country, including Illinois.

It remains to be seen whether the new law in California can be actively enforced, as the Trump administration is opposed to the unmasking requirements.

Unmasking law enforcement: California is first to pass landmark bill

California lawmakers took action last week to stop federal agents—including immigration officials—from concealing their faces during ICE raids and other enforcement activities. The move in the nation’s largest state may spark similar measures around the country, including Illinois.

On Thursday California’s legislature passed legislation requiring most local and federal officials to show their faces and identify themselves when confronting individuals about their immigration status and related issues. The bill still requires approval by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Stop Trump's Plan to Let AI Deny Medicare Coverage

Stop Trump's Plan to Let AI Deny Medicare Coverage

Donald Trump and Dr. Mehmet Oz want to let Artificial Intelligence (AI) choose which procedures Medicare will cover for individual patients -- with AI companies being paid based on how much money they save by denying people’s coverage.

Next year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will begin a pilot program in six states that uses AI to determine whether Medicare recipients receive the care their doctors say that they need. The plan was announced late last month by Dr. Oz, Trump’s appointee as CMS administrator, and has received sharp criticism from House Democrats and the medical community.[CD1]

This cruel ploy comes as Medicare faces an urgent funding crisis, thanks to Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill. None of this “cost-saving” would be necessary if Trump and the GOP weren't driving up healthcare costs and starving our healthcare system of funds.

Email Congress NOW: Demand that they stop AI-powered healthcare denials and use the upcoming funding deadline to restore healthcare.  You can use this Indivisible (national) portal to write your representative.

No Kings Day October 18, 2025

In June, we mobilized millions of people to take to the streets and declare with one voice: America has no kings. Protests took place in all 50 states and throughout the world.

Since then, we’ve seen more and more political leaders and institutions choosing to resist the regime rather than play dead.

But we knew June 14 was just the start.

Trump is ramping up his attacks on our rights and democracy,
